What’s For Snack?
Posted by: brittanyh16 in Student Life, tags: cooking, food, recipes, snacksThis Episode of the Blogger’s Food Network brought to you by Brianne and Brittany
After school do you have some sort of yummy snack? Today we’re going to tell you some of our favourite snacks for after school or for the weekend, and here’s Brianne for the Snack Report. What does it look like Brittany?
I’m going to tell you my favourite after school snack Cinnamon Toast.
- A bun or sliced bread
- Butter or margarine
- Cinnamon (of course)
- Sugar
- A toaster
- And a butter knife
First you have to cut the bun, in half put the toaster just below medium, then put the bun in the toaster. Once popped, take the toast out quickly and then butter it. Wait for a couple seconds and then sprinkle the cinnamon on. After you put the cinnamon on sprinkle the sugar.
Tah dah! Cinnamon toast.
So Brianne, what are you cooking up?
Well, a good snack idea for these cold months is Homemade Potato Chips. You can make salt and vinegar or ranch! I make them with my mom. Here’s how:
- 2 potatoes
- salt
- vinegar
- A 12 by 9 inch baking pan
- Oven or toaster oven
- and last but not least a steak knife
What you need to do is slice the potatoes very finely about 1 or 2 cm wide. Lay the slices of potato out in the baking pan and season them carefully. Put a capful of vinegar on every 2 slices of potato. Put them in the oven at 350 degrees F and bake for 5-10 minutes for best results. Take them out and dish them up. Eat them with ketchup or mustard.
So Blogging Friends, what do you like to eat for snack? Can you cook? Do you like to? Write a post with your favourite recipe or tell us in a comment!

Nice posts. I remember eating cinnamon toast when I got home after school (now I am a teacher in South Carolina). Today my afterschool snacks are not very healthy but it is one of my New Years Resolution to work on that. I am not a good cook so it would have to be pretty basic. I like microwaving a mini bag of popcorn and dipping it in Dijon mustard (yum!) for a drink I mix a packet of Crystal Light into a bottle of club soda (it makes the drinks fizzy and fun).

Hi Ms. Heaton
Brittany here. I’m the who wrote the recipe on Cinnamon Toast. The way I make it is well I like to take out of the toaster very quickly and then put butter on the toast. It tastes great like that. By the way thank you so much for reading our post.

I have a very favorite after school snack a cheese and summer sausage panine or just toasted
with griller: first put cheese and summer sausage in between two peices of bread than just put in in the griller and aply lots of presure untill toasted.
with toaster: first put half a piece of bread toasted in the microwave with cheese on it then put some slices of summer sausage on it and then put one more piece of toast on top.

I don’t have any recipes for some delicious food but those potato chips sound good. But why are they so thick and is there a certain type of potato that works the best to make them?

The potato tends to shrink in the oven so thats why it has to be so thick. I’d say russet potatos are the best to use.

I love food and probably my two favorites are barbeque chips and miso soup (if that counts as food). Although i really like food, i can’t cook very well other than the packages of food with directions on them. Like kraft mac and cheese or popcorn.

Hi Brianna and Brittany,
I think it’s really unique to have two people post a blog together. You get to see something like a conversation and it’s great to see more than one person’s opinion in a post. I have more of a sweet tooth so thank you for the cinnamon toast recipe. The homemade potato chips sounds good too, so I’ll try that out as well.
Thanks.
I love to cook and eat about almost everything, by the way.
